Default Dyna rip

What's the go, no more Dyna's, the end of an era, not good enough, just when HD had bought out the best Dyna - the Low rider "S", and then scrap the entire lineup - would have been even better with the M8, don't HD realize that there are Softail riders and there are Dyna Riders, we don't dare cross that line....

Welcome DDD, great first post. Your lamentations are almost a week old. I believe that the "Dyna" line will see a re-birth in the custom market. Until then hold on to your bike, it will no doubt skyrocket in value.

I take a more cynical view; the Low Rider S (along with the rest of the "S" models) was a marketing play to clear out remaining inventory of production Dyna parts and Twin Cam engines.

Dynas never really had a good setup what with a flexible chassis that was worse than the FXR plus the engine was rubber mounted and moved around inside the frame which was terrible for handling.
Moving to a modern mono shock frame with stiffer parts and the engine as part of the structure added a ton of extra stability to the chassis on the new 2018s.
Now stand back and wait for an "S" model 117 new bike that will blow your mind.
Better handling.
More power.
Quieter engine with more rumble and less clanking and wheezing.
Oh boy.
The MoCo is on the right track.
And maybe next year the bikes won't look so bleak once they put some paint and chrome back on them.
This first year is all about the MoCo wanting to make the bikes stand out apart from the earlier machines.
But Harley is all ways trying to give the customer what they want and if we want an S model some chrome and some paint they will figure it all out.
Meanwhile enjoy your old Dyna.
It's a cool bike and will still be cool 50 years from now.
But you could say that about most HDs.

Sure am glad someone finally had the stones to bring this up.
Fun fact if the used bike market was not over flowing with dynas and new dynas were making money Harley would still be selling them. Companies don't tend to shoot a cash cow when they have one.

Touring models are HD's bread and butter. Has been for a long time.
