There is a step-by-step directions with photos on the forum...this is what I had done to mine. When "heat wrap" the exhaust. You will not eliminate all the heat though.

Cheers everyone!

Who ever cuts it open. Make sure they cut the outward facing part. That way your chrome heat shields will cover up the welds. Not a hard job. Did mine here at the shop. Just make sure you get all of it out. And it's very clean before you weld it up.

The same reason there they don't have turn signals and don't have 250 pound riders because race bikes every ounce of weight matters on a road bike the pound of weight you save makes no difference.

I have a new in the box 2-1-2 head pipe that uses the stock heat covers that I bought and am not going to use. It's yours for $250 + shipping. It's a "D something" brand.

I wouldn't cut open a Harley piece to remove the cat to save $250. But that's just me.
