I've been known to be In Absentia.

I didn't like the look of the SOA inspired Low Rider S.

Yeah - HD did it the hard way by upping the stroke on the 114 rather than just boring it out a little.

Which is good as you can still bore it out more! There are M8 114 to 124 drop in kits on the market now....

It is worth noting that the 117" in CVO's has the exact same stroke as the 114" and is only a very small increase in bore size.

My vote...I'd spend $925 to get the 114.

Unless..... you never modify your bikes.
107 intake and pipe is $925.

So, why is the 114 a $925 option on the Fatbob, but a $1300 option on the Heritage? Still worth it?

I'm great at spending other people's money

For less than a grand...get the 114. You won't waste any time pondering the "what ifs" down the road. Compared the money we spend on shiny bits and other do-dads, an extra thousand isn't much.

I rode both at demo days and the 114 pulls harder than the 107. It'd be worth the money to me if I was getting a new bike.

There are differences in the engine other than the bore.

it may not matter now but, it will matter later whenyou get to upgrading. The 107 softails don't share thr same crank with the 114. If you compare the 2 on hds site, you'll see the bore and stroke are different as well as the optional $795 abs on the 107....

Over the term of your loan (assuming you're not paying cash) you'll barely notice the $925 difference. I'd go with the 114. You can make up the extra cost many ways. One less meal out a month, spend half as much on your mother in laws Xmas present, one less trip to the massage parlor, you get the point. lol
