Funny...I've been calling it by the correct name since I've been riding two wheel. KICKSTAND. Why? Because when I've tried to "jiffy" it down, I end up kicking it down. That's why it always will be a kickstand.

Haven't been able to ride for almost two months and looking at another three before I can ride again. It's really starting to **** me off and I guess it's carried over to my posts here.
