from now on kick stands will be referred to as "retractable gravity dependent stationary motorcycle leaning apparatus".

I call it a jiffy stand as soon as I learn how to jiffy it down. Right now I kick it so that's what I'll stick with

What are the stands on the new softail called, they are totally different! Probably need to start another thread on that one.

Back in the kicker days, kickstands were optional. You could remove the spring from your kick lever and leave that down to hold your bike up therefore eliminating the kickstand.

(Bungee cord needed to hold up kicker while riding)

That being said, thanks scratch for stepping up.

As as far as you scratching something, I'm asummming you mean your *** since you probably don't have any ***** beyond being a keyboard commando.
