Brand new day folks, and I was not bragging about 120. My old 78 honda 750 would do 120, I had to find out about the stock mufflers on my hopped up bike.
Basically what i said was the stock mufflers chocked the bike down some, but not a whole lot. What it did do greatly was throw off my "ears," LOL as in knowing my speed by the sound of my exhaust. It will take me a while to get used to needing a little more space to pass an 18 wheeler, but that is the only thing wrong. Other than that, it is great.

Now he is updating all of us saying he got the pipes on, the performance is still there but he can tell its choked down a bit, noted by his acceleration and top speed.

You are all welcome
BINGO you nailed it spot on, with the exception of top speed. It will still get there, but just not as fast.

Stock exhaust system, stock mufflers. Choking the engine.

I'm not talking new bikes either. Sporties/FL's, even a couple dyna's. What gives?

I haven't noticed add'l noise enforcement.

I can't speak for every one, only myself but I got so tired of the excessive noise that I was hearing all the times that I rode, that I was actually enjoying driving my little Jeep Liberty more than riding my RKC, because of the quietness. I like peace and quiet, to the point of no radio, no glass packs, and no CB. I actually enjoy sharing my thoughts with the big guy upstairs and I don't like interruptions wile we are communicating with each other. The list of why I like peace and quiet could go on, and on, and on, but I'll stop while I still have a few friends left.

I just came off of a 103 SG with an FM header and Rush mufflers and a 103 Street Bob with those damn V&H Short Shots on it...moved up to an ‘18 CVO RG and have to admit I’m thinking twice about doing any exhaust mods on it. The 117 runs pretty strong as it is, and I’m kind of enjoying hearing my stereo, not waking up the neighbors, and not having that steady thrum on the highway. Must be getting old, but I don’t see anything too loud in this bike’s future...

Ok after a quick 65 mile test ride I have learned that the torque and horse power is still there. However I am having to learn a whole new set of rules for riding my bike, like (1) give it a little more gas on the take off or it will die. (2) ease out on the clutch a little slower, and (3) I have to buy a left hand exhaust bracket to save my Y-pipe from busting. I never knew it was supposed to have a bracket to support the Y-pipe. After all said and done, "good trade."

I'm running late model slip ons on my 2007 as well but I'm also running true dual head pipes...best of both worlds, breathes fine, no cats, nice rumble, i can hear my tunes
