I have a LePera Bare Bones, leather with the gel insert.

I just rode cross country on it, 3000 miles. I was comfortable. However, I haven’t tried other seats other than the factory one. I can say it was more comfortable than the factory one.

Sanjuro

I have the Maverick for my 27 RGS. Fantastic seat! Super comfortable, good looking and the quality is miles ahead of the stock seat. The metal base pan is a work of art and it is carpeted on the bottom side. It's a touring seat so it's function over form but I think it looks great. I can easily do 400 mile days with total comfort. Perfect fit as well. I tried various seats including the DG and this was the keeper.

I too had a LePera Barebones gel solo. It looked great but I slid on it and never felt very planted with vinyl. I went with the Danny Gray Buttcrack solo on the Softail and a Danny Gray Big Seat solo on the Street Glide. Comfort, planted feel, great looks and the leather softens and get's more comfortable and starts to get character that vinyl can't.

It would depend on how much you like being tortured?
I would equate to sitting on a vinyl covered brick.

You want a decent seat get a C & C

BS.
I had a maverick and it was the fastest seat to ever come off of my bike and sold.

I would not recommend lepera which in spanish is the dog~pera~ btw and it does not disappoint.

Almost anyone in here has had one comes to the same conclusion.
Their seats suck.

I have ridden in LePera seats since 1995 (on Dynas) and must say they are well manufactured, look good, and are comfortable. They are definitely better that stock seats by a mile (and a half - I also have a HD Badlander for 2-up riding and that thing is uncomfortable - too wide, hard edges with hard foam, etc) ;-)

The Bare Bones that I have in my Street Bob for 10 years now did 2000 mile tours with me without torturing me or having other negative side effects. IMHO the secret to this is to get the ergonomic triangle right - I extended my forward controls, as well as adding straight risers and a wider bar to the bike (yes, I have long arms and legs @6'1 and a 34" inseam ). This removed pressure from my butt because the weight shifted a little bit forward, and there were no pressure points anymore.

The other thing to consider is the fact that a bike is not a sofa, and your expectations might have to be adjusted ... So long story short, if you buy one go check them on your bike and think about adjusting other things as needed. You won't be disappointed with a LePera.

(The photo below has the old Slammer handlebar on it that came with the bike. I now have lower 6" risers, and a 36" drag bar on it ... Much better)

I won a Lepera at J&P open house a few years ago. It was like a $500.00 seat and one of their new models. Did not look good on the bike, and was hard as a brick!! I sold it very soon after I got it!

have a lepera Cobra on my Sportser. It isnt thick and plush but has been on the bike 12 years still looks and feels like the day I bought it. The quality is there as far as lasting a long time.

The gel is the key. I got a silhouette solo with gel and can ride all day in comfort on the shovel.

Pretty much echo all the other comments. I own a barebones (rode it a couple years). It is a very well made good quality seat. It now resides in the basement in the box in which the Mustang Solo arrived that replaced it. It was simply too much for this 57 year old posterior.
