I've been contemplating a shift to a FF also. My question is about...glasses. I've not seen any that seem to have a relief for the glasses in the padding. Anyone wear glasses that can recommend one? I'm leaning towards a modular, if that matters.

My Harley (HJC) modular has creases in the foam for glasses. It is probably not the quietest, but it was cheap, around $250 and is comfortable. I really like a modular, but would like something more quiet. My problem is that there is nowhere near me that sells good helmets. I tried to buy a Schuberth via internet and it didn't fit. I don't see any recommendations on here for quiet modulars.

Shoei J-Cruise is my new one. Still have a Bell Pit Boss also that I’ll wear if I want to feel a little more airflow.

This is a Shoei GT Air, it has cut-outs for glasses. It has the Pinlok anti-fog shield, breath guard and internal sun shield. It was tighter than a squirrels ear when new but fits like a glove after being broken in well. Something to compare to anyway. Hope this helps.

Cutout for glasses
Face shield down with pinlock shield in place

Visor up / Sunshield down

Never had a problem with my glasses, but I guess it depends how thick the frame arms are.

Helmet on first, then slide the glasses on through the front. Shoei RF1200 works well.

I wear sunglasses under my RF1200, with no discomfort. I read the reviews at Revzilla before I bought mine.

Been riding for 24+ years. Prefer 1/2 helmet over full. Ride somewhere between 7500 -10,000 miles per season dependent upon what interruptions life throws at me. My riding season each year typically includes one cross country trip totaling 3,000 miles or more. So I would consider myself as one of the long distance riders you are asking input from.

Previous to my current helmet, I wore the Bell Pit Boss and really liked it, probably my favorite helmet in all my years of riding before my recent helmet which is HD's Lucid Ultra-Light Sun Shield J)3 Half Helmet. I absolutely love this helmet. https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...03-half-helmet

Have not experienced the wind noise you mention with either helmet, but the Lucid compared to the Pit Boss is lighter and sits down further on my head. Definitely a helmet you can put on and forget it's there over the course of a days riding.

35 years of riding with a half helmet and no issues. In the winter I just wear a face wrap. I also wear contacts, so I usually buy sunglasses with foam to keep my eyes from drying out. Never liked FF helmets due to less peripheral vision and too hot in the summer.

Thanks for the assist. Did a lil more digging and pulled the trigger on a Nolan 104 Absolute Outlaw. Has everything I want plus its got a ratchet chin strap instead of 'D' rings.
