This will be a stupid question but I'm not shy and will ask anyway. I've always worn a half helmet. It ever used to bother me but at my older age wind is starting to kill my ears, the next day after riding I'm going "huh?" to everybody.
I figured it was wind blowing in my ears so I got some earplugs today. They seemed to help a little but the wind noise is still a pain. I'm out in the country and most of my riding is 60+. Would a full face cut down on the noise? I've been thinking getting one anyway for colder weather when it hits. Thanks!

To whoever wants to say, ya don't want wind drive a car, get it off your chest and be done with it.
There is definitely a big difference in wind noise for me between my FF and half helmet. I suppose it depends on the helmet as well. My FF is a Shoei Air GT. It's pretty quiet. There is a trade off.
I get a degree of wind buffeting with the FF vs zero with the half helmet. I should wear the FF all the time it's just too hot in the summer here so I only use it in cooler weather. I despise ear plugs. However, I will wear them on longer trips during summer.
For me, I've found a 3/4 helmet with a full face shield quieter than a like and similar quality full face helmet. There's also a difference in turbulence as there's no chin bar to act as a lever. That said, there is less protection in a crash.
Things are a bit quieter with a FF helmet, but you should wear earplugs as well. Believe it or not, these closed-cell foam plugs are almost as effective as the over-the-head ear protectors, and the price can't be beat.
I have an arai. Huge difference. I had a bell rogue
With helmets you get what you pay for. Arai and Shoei are awesome. Some helmets are quieter than others but there is no such thing as a quiet helmet. Especially at high speeds. My HJC Rpha 11 Pro has great ventilation but is very noisy. At least on my Zx14r. Not so bad behind a windshield

What model of Arai? My wife and I have been using Arai RX-7 / Corsair helmets for 18 years- we just picked up our most recent pair of RX-7 / Corsair-X Isle of Man TT commemorative helmets while visiting the Isle of Man for the TT. It was over two grand, but we love them.
Full face Arai, I have a Quantium. Best advise I can recommend is go to a local Arai dealer and get fitted. Better yet go to a Motorcycle show and speak directly to the Arai rep and let them fit you. I went to the NYC progressive show. Wore mine to Alaska and back, comfortable, quite and safe. You can't buy a better helmet I'M HOME.
Sounds like ear plugs are the answer, not the switch to a full face. Yes a full face will help but as mentioned depending on what brand you get, the wind noise will very. I don't ride without ear plugs.
