Im with you. When it comes to Harleys I want that classic look too. Or what my mind perceives as classic. Thats why I bought and ride an FLSS.
I bought my FLSS a couple weeks before the 2018 release, gambling they wouldnt bring out something I liked more or looked as retro as the FLSS but with the updated infrastructure of the fame and M8 motor. And IMO, they didnt. So Im glad I bought the 2017 FLSS...
While I agree they wont put a springer front end on any of the new motorcycles even moving forward, I think sooner than later well see a similar cosmetic treatment as the FLSS got to the new Slim or one of the other bikes.
So, unless you are in a hurry to get a new bike, Id wait. It may be a couple years, but I think itll happen sooner than later.

Do you guys/gals think it's best to pull the trigger now or maybe wait hoping they may make a model and color that is different from what we now see. My tastes are that of the old style bikes and thay is why I have a deluxe, but the new deluxe just aint the same. The new heritage is to dark for my tastes. Maybe wait and hope that sometime soon the mothership will design a springer with the new motor/frame or make a deluxe or heritage with two tone colors with lots of chrome? What opinions and or advise do you folks have?
I bought mine because the timing was right and my gut said "do it", but otherwise I'd have happily waited a few years for the bugs to shake out. No reason to jump if you're not feeling it. You've already got a great bike and Harleys only get sweeter with age.
That said I'm also not regretting my purchase at all. I love this thing. I certainly have to watch the warranty and sometimes wonder if another shoe is going to drop on me - but mostly because it rides too good to be true imo but I haven't woke up from the dream yet.. If that happens I'll just ride my Dyna and FXR while the Moco builds me a new motor...in theory anyway.
Prot - Hmmmm 4 more Evos vs one new bike is something to ponder too....honey!...I'll be cleaning out the garage if you need me.....no...no..nothing to worry about...
