The not getting real dark was a problem for me also. I purchased a pair of Wiley X Air Rage with the dark tint. They also have the removable eyecup and were a lot cheaper than the Panoptx. The only downside is that my prescrption isn't as good as with the Panoptx.
I did think she mentioned some pairs did not get as dark during daylight
but you could order photogray or transitions lenses and that should do the trick
The original post asked about the day/night lens, which is a transitional lens. I gave my input on a product I own. You are apparently giving input on something you tried on once but do not own and have never actually used outside of a building.
just giving input as I was told it last week when I was there
and you are right I do not own a pair as of yet but it is time to renew my prescription glasses and I am definatly looking and they are in the running of what I have seen
Has anyone used or worn Panoptx Day/Night Sunglasses. I am looking at them and would be interested in your experience with them.
Best pair of riding glasses/sunglasses I have owned period. When I bought them I scoughed at the price. I tought they where a regular pair of riding glasses. I let the cute little chick at theHarley dealer talk me into them. She had just gotten implants so in my defense I was a little distracted. Any way I rode home with them on (about a 15 mile ride) and as soon as I hit 90Mphon the freeway I was convinced. Have not ridden without them since.
I have a pair of Raptors with day/night lenses. Although expensive, they provide great vision and protect your eyes.
For all of you who feel they don't get dark enough Panoptx makes a "high noon" eyecup with an additional lens which will make them as dark as you could possibly want. The cost is $35.
The only hitch is this eyecup is only available for the 2007 models as well as the Raptor.
I have used the eyecup in my Raptors and frankly unless you are riding into the sun or riding on an extremely bright day with no clouds you really dont need it. The "high noon" eyecup comes with a nice little pouch to protect it when you put it in your jacket.
You have to call Panoptx for this eyecup, it isn't listed on their website.
diablo cv am/pm not dark enough in heavy duty sun light, but supposedly good uv protection. i've snapped my 2nd pr of frames in the bridge of the nose removing the eye cup, which ironically, has been their strongest feature for me. 200$ for 20$ worth of product.
