08 cvo road king with 35k, I've replaced the lifters with s and s standards about 5k ago. Previous owner had the cam bearings done at 18k...I'm doing the heads, and changing cams so I'll put in real bearings at that time. Other than that the bike runs great.

I had total engine failure on mine. I just heard this week of another Fat Boy S that had the same thing happen. Glad I got rid of it.

Any differences between the years? Hoping having the last year of it will also magically equal having all the bugs gone.

I have a '13 CVO Ultra with 33,000+ on the clock with no problems.
Mine is still under warranty and I won't touch it until that expires but if I decide to keep it, I will change the lifters as I have read so many stories about them going bad.

The main issue with the 110" is the heavy valvesprings H-D saw fit to use on them. They put undue stress on the lifters that can cause them to fail prematurely, as UKLauren found out earlier this year. Otherwise the 110 seems to be a fairly reliable motor that puts out more torque and horsepower than the 103 (as would be expected) at the expense of running a bit warmer. I've also heard of some owners experiencing hot start issues with them, a problem that can be cured with an ecm flash to enable the ACRs a bit sooner.

My 2012 FLTRU had the 103, but immediately upgraded to the 110. With 59k miles on it, the cam tensioner failed and sent metal through the engine. Warranty replacement of the engine with a new 110 long block in 2016. Upgraded the cams at the time of replacement. I've put another 15k miles on it since then with no trouble.
