Lol a bitter ex girl? Trying to steal a bike? First of all, I don't even know how to ride a motorcycle. Plus I hate thieves. My current boyfriend is the owner of the motorcycle. He never kept up with the spare. He had the bike before i was in the picture.God knows where it is. I accidently got his other one stolen because it was stolen out of my car with alot of other expensive stuff. So i kinda find it my obligation to help him get keys to his bike. I appreciate all the comments that are actually worth something.

he called and told the the keys didn't work and they ordered more and got it sent to the house. And those didn't work either.

I didn't understand how the keys would be wrong either. If he has to get it rekeyed I would pay for it due to the circumstances. It's my fault.

To repeat is it a fob or key? If it is a fob it must be programed as the key is just for the steering lock.

The dealership wouldn't send keys without the title. It has his name on it. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by troll. I'm just trying to right by my man. My fault and I figured the professionals would know. People with experience. You guys.

It is a regular key. It's is circular shaped. No FOB.

I thought may be it was cut wrong. Or the dealership messed up on the key that went to his bike. Idk. I just d ont see how they **** up 2 times.

JJ, the fact that the only key was in your car when stolen, and your bf lost his other key makes you, at most, 50% responsible. Honestly, I'd have to question the tude of your bf for even allowing you to pay. But, as a very thoughtful gf, I'd dump it in his lap and say you'll pay 1/2 the bill after HE gets it fixed.

OP is the original poster.

Still something wrong with this story. What kind of biker does not keep his only key?

Your man should do right by you, and not expect you to safeguard the one and only.

He should have a spare key. Or two.

He should deal with this on his own.

Never mind all that, there is one good answer for you.

Get the bike and title to a dealer or locksmith. Bring your checkbook.

Sorry we are not more helpful, some things are best handled in person.

It could be something as simple as not inserting the key correctly.

If this behavior is typical of your boyfriend, be prepared to take care of his things.

Have you considered going back to the dealer and telling them the new keys don't work? That would have been the most logical course of action.

I'd think if the lock cylinder had been replaced, there would be a dealership record of it somewhere, even if only for the parts. Sounds like it's time to get the bf involved.

I read the OP and I read the ‘explanation’ and this still doesn’t pass the smell test to me.

Dealer wants the title before they’ll send keys? You said they already sent keys.

You can’t even ride a bike but you’re carrying his spare key in your purse?

He has no idea where his main key is?

He bought the bike new but the dealer has no record of it?

Nope, I don’t think this smells right at all. If any of this is actually true, two things need to happen - your bf needs to have his mom help him get new keys, and you need a new bf.

Alright here is the honest truth. Tried to make it vague because it weird spreading your failures at life. The reason it was my fault is because we live in Virginia. I was stationed in Gulfport MS and never locked my car. Never had an issue. I come here. Follow my old habits and bam. Cars Been ransacked through and inside was his spare car key. I held onto it just in case I needed to get into his car. So being that they took alot of stuff. Including his spare car key. The also stole his vehicle. In his vehicle was his main set if keys that held stuff you don't use everyday. His primary car keys were in the house. So when they stole his car because I didn't lock my car, his bike key got stolen in the process. I have no idea about the spare. I wasnt with him when he got the bike.

the dealer has record. He broughtall the information they needed to them. They ordered the keys. Keys came In like a week later. Then he tried them. Didn't work. Called them again, and they ordered another set. Those came in. Didn't work. So I figured I would see if people who ride and maintenance motorcycles all the time might have insight. Try to venture out into the global webs and ask people with experience. I promise I'm not stealing any motorcycles. Just trying to fix my mistake of getting it stolen.

All right, you finally come clean,, good for you.
Here it is,, your's is the only story I have seen since joining this forum about replacement key's properly ordered from the HD that don't work. (period)
Something is wrong with the dealer, the dealers rep that makes the order, the VIN or the bikes ignition set. (again-Period)

p.s. I ordered and received a new set for my bike,, hassle free.
p.s.s. you are unique.
p.s.s.s. somebody or something is a lie or everything would work,, figure out who or what it is. Nobody here can help you beyond that.
