I'll put my hand up for the genuine Harley heated gear. I bought the heated jacket liner 2 seasons ago and it continues to work really well.

It fits neatly under my normal jacket and heats up as advertised.

Anyone use the electric socks? I'm thinking about getting a pair to go along with the pant liner and jacket liner I just bought from another member.

Do you wear them under regular socks, over or by them selves?

I've got the whole ensemble - liner, gloves, pants, and socks.

I recommend you wear them over thin dress socks. You'll want to minimize the need for washing. If you get - or already have - the right kind, the material on the dress socks is pretty thin and won't cause issue with fit in your boots due to being overly bulky, but will still provide a barrier.

Just ordered the Warm & Safe 12v Heated socks.

I've worn white cotton socks my whole life. Always wore my boots, even with a suite. I keep them in good repair and always polished to help with waterproofing. Just wondering if the heated socks would be too bulky with the cotton socks also.

I have enough heated gear. Don't need the socks. I use those chemical (Toasty Toes, etc,) heat packs - last all day. I Usually buy them by the box. A box will usually last me 2 ~3 years. Have to make sure the expiration dates are OK for that long. Worked great on Jan. 1st with -6 temps.

If you ordered the right size they will fit snug. They need to be snug to be effective. They would be hard to get on over the cotton socks, and even if you did, the combination would likely feel too tight on your feet and be too bulky in the boots to be comfortable.

Wearing them over thin dress socks works perfectly. So, perhaps it's time to try something new. Those thin dress socks won't bite, and nobody will know anyway.

I rode back from Panama City Florida this past Tuesday. Didn't get above 24 degrees for the almost 200 mile ride. I'm getting old I guess, at 61 I realized I can't take the cold like I used to. That was the reason for the purchases I made today.

My feet were the worst, they felt like blocks of ice. I had to stop about every 50 miles or so and walk around to get the blood moving again in them.

I guess. Asked the wife to pick up a couple of pair to see how they work. LOL

I don't care what others may say... I listen to my feet. My feet were unhappy before (too cold). Now, they are much happier with the heated socks.

One other thing I should have mentioned... As I said, to work most effectively, you want the socks to be snug. Having a thick layer of cotton material between them and your feet would likely have a more significant impact - in this case negative - on performance than the thin material of dress socks. So it's not only about being too bulky etc...

Try a pair of the chemical heat pads until your socks come in. They work great. Up here they sell in most hardware stores and drug stores.
