Damn. I wish I knew about them before I returned my last pair of HD heated gloves (made by Gerbing). The left one quit working. I loved everything about those gloves.

I've tried those in my boots when sitting on a hunting stand and it didn't work worth a ****. The problem is they're air activated. Ain't a lot of ventilation inside your boots.

This. They work for a few minutes, but by the time you get on the road it’s just a lump in your boot. You’re much better off with heated socks.

I have a Gerbings heated liner and heated gloves. Here in Canada I use the liner a lot. It’s well worth the invested. I haven’t used the gloves as often, but I have them if I need them.

Maybe you had some outdated pads or inferior cheap knockoffs. I've been using the toe pads for over 10 years and only had a couple pairs not work = they were out of date. The brand I'm using now and for the last 3 years are called "HotHands". The longest time I've been out in the cold is at the Chicago Toys 4 Tots parade every year. Approximately 8 hours(7am to 3pm). When I get home my feet are still warm.

Your feet are not in a vacuum - there's still air around your toes.

Bottom line is they work for me, so I'll keep using them. Hellovalot cheaper then the socks.

When I went for a ride Jan, 1st it was -6* I even took a couple extra pairs and put them in some of my pockets for extra heat. Which I'm glad I did because I couldn't find my heat controller.

I have using Hothands (made in the USA) for quite a few years without any problems. I keep them in my trunk just in case.

Picked up the Hotwire 2.0 jacket liner and gloves last night at Cycle Gear with that 10% off coupon.

My short 30 minute ride into work this morning (26* and no wind) was no problem at all with these. I ran the gloves and jacket independently on medium (Jacket range is Max, High, Medium, Low, Off; Glove is High, Medium, Low, Off) most of the way in. Some highway at 70 MPH and once on the highway I turned the jacket to Max and immediately felt it was too hot and backed it back to Medium. I did the same with the gloves to feel the difference. Not sure how cold I can ride in these, but today was 26* and both on Medium. Legs were getting chilly but I just had on jeans and long johns.

The only thing I'm unsure of yet is the bulkiness of the gloves. Kinda felt like riding with oven mitts on. Think I'll get back in the store and try on a smaller size then decide on keeping these or going with glove liners.

Looked at the California heated gloves at the Cleveland IX center MC show yesterday. They fit better than the others I tried, and had a 5 year warranty. So far they are my 1st choice.

I bought a used set of G3 Gerbings gauntlets off a forum member for $80. A dual Gerbings controller with remote from another for $70, a battery tender converter wire for $10 and a Hotwired vest at Cycle gear for 149. So $310.
Shop around.
