Default 2012 Ultra CVO rear seat issues.

Hi Guys, My wife and I currently ride a 2008 Ultra and are thinking of upgrading to a 2012 Ultra CVO that is for sale here locally. We took it out for a spin yesterday and my wife complained that there was no room between her mid-section and the back of my backrest. Keep in mind, she's about a buck twenty and very slim, so this is a problem. When we got back, I took a tape and measured the distance between the back of the backrest and the back of the rear seat, it was only 9".
The distance on our "08" is 12". I know the backrest is somewhat adjustable but I don't think by adjusting it, I'll get an additional 3". (No jokes here, I already have a complex)
Is this some problem that is specific to this year? Or should I switch out the backrest? Has anyone else had this problem? I need to get this resolved before I buy it, we're headed to British Columbia this year and I want her to be super comfortable.
Scott

Get a tour pak relocater and move it back to give her more room between your backrest and the tour pak backrest, or move it back farther if it isn’t already back as far as it goes.

I could do that, I just find it puzzling that all 4 of my brothers don't have this problem with their Ultra's or CVO's. What do you think is the issue with this one?

I’d check to see if the tour pak is in the foremost position, that’s probably what is causing your shorter measurement.

I got the tour pak extender and you get an extra 2" which made a big difference (just ask the wife!). 😂

Take a look under the tour pack.
Everything is adjustable one way or the other.
The last owner could have rode solo and not needed any room (or rode with a child and wanted the tight fit)...

Lots of options out there from relocating to making it adjustable.
If the bike is right for you (except the tourpack fit) you can remedy that.

Good luck

i have owned a variety of ultras and never noticed the back seat getting smaller , granted i don't sit there but ask your dealer if there is something strange, the frame has not changed in that area

12 and 13's have lumbar for the passenger. you need to move the tour pack back with a reloaction kit. I purchased one from George Anderson it think. You cant move it on the CVO's because of the amp and other items that the regular bikes don't have.
