Default Mutazu Tour Pak Backrest Fitup

I purchased this Mutazu tour pak and it came with the backrest. As you can see in the pictures the fit up is horrible in my opinion. I contacted the Mutazu reps and they stated that gap is necessary to eliminate the backrest from rubbing the tour pak. My first question is can I shorten the brackets and get the desired tighter fit? Our will a HD brand backrest fit the Mutazu tour pak and I just return this one. Any ideas or real life experience is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had bought one not knowing it was matuka, was also concerned about the gap in the back.. Tried like hell to see it while riding but couldn't ,, even harder when the old lady was riding. She was comfortable, that was all that mattered. Point is, if you want something CHEAP and confortable, it don't matter, live with a gap. It was never pointed out while showing friends my ride. I have since sold mine since switching to a CVO seat and am getting a CVO backrest. from Boardtracker/Adventure for $60 off retail. Still like $100 more than foreign backrest. To gap or not to gap, that is the question! And $100 to $150 additional for no gap is the answer. Hope this helps.

So are you saying that if I purchase a HD backrest it will fit better on the Mutazu pak? And I will gladly pay the extra to have a better fitup.

I bought a knock off chopped tourpak and had to make some adjustments. Added 1/2"x3/8" foam insulation to the base so the top cover fit snug and would not move. It weather proofed it as a bonus. And tweeked the backrest brackets to reinforce them. Adjustments and mods are part of buying non oem, chinese crap sometimes.

I would take a crack at modifying those little metal brackets.
