Not only that, the thief who stole your bike now also has your address....and they know if you can afford a nice Harley, you probably have some other stuff worth stealing too.

A firearm secured in a locked box won't be much good when you need it.
Someone might watch you place it in there and pry open the box after you leave.

Anyone have anything else/better?
they are called grifters and I have them on all my bikes - they work great but I still put contents in a sealed ziplock before closing.

I got those license plate boxes on both bikes. I keep my papers in there along with a spare battery for my FOB, plus I have a tracker stuck in there too.

What's awesome about Ohio is that they give you two copies of your registration. One for your record (with your address), and one to go in your vehicle, WITHOUT your address - for this very reason!

Point is, if a "lock" is seen by someone with malicious intent,, well then they know something is in there, and all locks are easily defeated.
Covert is best, Out of sight is Out of mind.
There are floor board and foot peg options that offer sealed covert storage.
A simple search will provide those options.

Idiot friend did that and they took his bike on the way to Sturgis, went to report it stolen and he couldn't provide any proof it was his nor any info like the tag or vin number so how where they to know he didn't loan it out much less identify it. Told him was out of luck till he could.

And was he "unable" to provide that information?
Was it the fault of the Officer receiving his initial report or his for not having duplicate copies or being un-able to even provide the VIN?
(I have a photo of my VIN on my phone)
(I have "proof of insurance", on my phone)
I'm sorry your friend had to deal with that,, but did it end badly for him because the thief had the info instead of him?
What's the end of the story?
