A handful of states do not require "registration" papers. Minnesota, as well as several other states do not require them and do not give them out- granted, the paper you tabs that come yearly has something similar. Basically, I was ticketed for something that isn't a MN state requirement while traveling in Cali. Dafuq....

And about having electronic copies on your phone.....great, but I sure as hell would never grant an LEO access to my phone for him to of course, bring back to his squad to run it. So, papers in the helmet or in the small license plate box it is.

That's funny in a way Mi. is one of the very few states I haven't been stopped in on 2 wheels at some point but I've only passed through a couple times, never wandered around like my usual MO.

A paper copy of the registration is required in Ohio, but electronic proof of insurance is accepted. However, that electronic proof of insurance has to be electronically generated by the insurance provider - a photo that you took isn't sufficient.

I wouldn't grant them access to my phone either. I just hold my phone and they look and see the electronic copy, the phone doesn't leave my hand. We have a constitutional amendment in Mo. where L.E. has to have a warrant to access our phones or electronic devices.

I have a paper copy of proof of insurance with my registration under the seat/battery and when on a road trip I keep another copy in my wallet just in case. If a L.E.O. doesn't want me to hold my phone or insists on holding himself I would just make him wait while I dig out the paper copy.
