Default Locking a backrest

Other than the high priced dealer locks, are the any other options for securing a detachable backrest?

I have the bullets that Brukus made on my Road King and am happy with them, but can not find them anywhere for the backrest on my Superglide.

You’re confusing me. You say you have the bullets but then you say you can’t find them.

I was going to suggest doing what I do when I can't find something, buy another one. The original almost always shows up a short time later. But it looks like Brukus may be out of business? Can't find anything less than about 4 years old on the interweb.

You only need one for each appliance, I purchased two for my separate rack and back rest on my Road King. I need one for my Dyna. I also can't find the Brukus website.

I liked their product, I have the Saddlebag Secure, the windshield secure and 2 bullets for the 4 point docking system on Road King.

All I found on amazon was the saddle bag secure sets.

I take a 'cable tie' that has the wire in it and thread it through the mount, then around through the holes on the backrest on my SGS.

Also do this on my Ultra's. (both sides on each bike)

Someone would have to have a sharp knife to cut those ties (or a pair of wire cutters)
I haven't lost a backrest yet.............
