Have you checked your plugs to get a read on the air/fuel mixture? Could the bike be running too lean and causing this? Is this just on the left pipe or both pipes?
I completely understand how you feel. You own an expensive motorcycle and wish to maintain it in pristine condition. So this is what you do:
Take the bike to an Indy, have them remove the baffles so they can be sandblasted to bare metal. You then ceramic coat them. The ceramic coating will tolerate heat well and will not rust. Expect to pay a premium price.
I did reach out to the manufacturer to inquire about a warranty claim or some info in the part. In summary, not a warranty issue, and because my bike appeared to be running perfectly because of the lack of carbon build up, Id have to try something like pint. Apparently they expected a buildup of carbon to mask the rust color in the pipes. I havent pulled the plugs because it seems to be running great, but thats a good idea to check anyway. Like Everything else, these were built to a price point. This is the result on these. On a good note, they still sound good. 🧐
You have a long way to go with those mufflers. Mine are screaming eagle mufflers that are 13 years old, and half the perforated holes have rotted away. It's gotten a bit louder in the last year and the chrome on them is 25% gone. Riding the bike, will coat them with carbon from the exhaust and cover the rust. That's as good as it's gonna get.,,
