we went about 5-6 years ago. We stayed in Manassas and rode to Patriot HD for the ride in to the Pentagon. I suggest you check Patriot HD and check some motels out that way.... don't remember cost or which motel, but it was nice and reasonable.
Just be ready to wait..... and wait!!!
Alexandria, or Crystal City will be close to D.C. and the Pentagon if that's where you are starting from. Most of the Harley Dealers organize rides that leave from their shops. Ft. Washington Harley Davidson was a popular starting point. Its in Md. though on 210 Hwy. https://www.hdwash.com/--rolling-thunder-2018

I second the Patriot HD nod. They are a good crew.
I live in the DC area, so no recommendation on hotels; but, I have ridden to the Pentagon from Whitt's (now Bull Run HD) in Manassas. The form for KSU at 0800. Patriot is KSU at 0900. BR has two groups, Pentagon parking riders up front, with those making their way into DC at the rear. Virginia State Police close the entire route for the procession, which includes Interstate 66 from exit 44. There's nothin like seeing two columns of bikes in a three and four lane Interstate for 30 miles.
Also, Quantico HD leaves from the dealer parking lot and rides the express lanes on I 95 to the Pentagon. So, Bull Run, Patriot, and Quantico on the Virginia side, plus riders coming in from Richmond and Fredericksburg. Maryland HDs also form and ride in together.
I usually stay at a hotel in Laurel, MD near Old Glory HD & make the ride down with them. Just do a google search for "Hotels near Old Glory HD, Laurel, MD" and you will get a bunch of results with lower priced rooms than closer to DC. It's right off the Baltimore Washington Parkway.
