I made this modification to my Sears (same as HF) jack for my Dyna. It took care of two problems that I had with it. It lowered and widened the lift points of the jack allowing it to slide under a lowered bike and made it more stable. Check out this video.
The HF jack = junk, had one for 2 days before handle snapped off & bottle jack started leaking, replaced it with The Craftsman, which in a picture looks very similar but is built much better.
Had Craftsman red jack for about 10 years. it finally became unstable and had to be replaced.
Bought HF equivalent about two years ago and have had absolutely no problems with it. With the two jacks side by side I could find no differences in appearance except the pressure release pedal. Parts were even interchangeable. To test it out I installed the craftsman's hydraulics on the HF and it fit perfectly.
Seriously? You couldn't figure this out on your own...
That guy
I ask a simple question....go to the J&S and pitbull web sites do they list the compressed height ...no they dont. Does sears no....
Titian is the only one I found that list this , and I am not sure how to buy an Titian.
