I installed progressive 944 rear shocks, they lower 1 inch.
Now my harbor freight jack will not fit under the frame.
Fully compressed it is 6 inches high.
Anyone have a J&S or pit-bull jack could you measure the fully compressed height?
Thanks in advance.......
I use a couple of 2x6 boards. Angle both ends, you can drive on and drive off. You will also need a piece for the kick stand. Heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new jack.
I have Progressive 412's on my Shovel...same thing.
My wife gave me one of those roller chocks that allow you to spin the wheel when cleaning. I just pull the bike up onto it, and it raises it just enough to get the bike lift under it.

The Sears yellow jack or HF equivalent drops to 4” which I believe is the same as the JS and Pitbulls.
You could also just simple drive up on a 2X6 on the front or back tire and that might get you high enough.
With the evergoing 20% off coupon you can get the HF version of my Sears yellow jack for $144. I seem to recall seeing it on sale for $129.
With the aluminum jack you not only have less than $150 in it but it’s light enough to hang on the wall when it’s not in use.

I have the HF blue jack which looks identical to sears yellow jack. It fits perfectly under my lowered FX. Lowest point is less than 4" fully compressed.
Tarkus60,
My J&S has the 2 support arms at a slight angle when lowered. The highest end (back side) is close to 5" from the ground. However the highest point the frame touches at the point I push it to is not quite 4 3/8th's inches.
I can roll it under my FATBOY Lo.
I think the OTC is the lowest on the market @ 3.5" to 16.75". I bought one due to my softail sitting so low. I have no complaints as it has proven to be a good jack.
I made this modification to my Sears (same as HF) jack for my Dyna. It took care of two problems that I had with it. It lowered and widened the lift points of the jack allowing it to slide under a lowered bike and made it more stable.
