Default RE: Mandatory license testing, how old?

In the town I live in, there is a Masonic village (retirement home). All of the residents who live there and drive have a small blue sticker they have to display on their vehicle. There is not one day that goes by, that I dont see one of those vehicles either involved in an accident or nearly causing an accident. Numerous times I have had to slam on the binders or swerve out of the way to avoid being run over by one of them. I believe everyone should have the right to drive themselves wherever they like regardless of age. But after a certain point (IMO about 60-65 years old) there needs to be a yearly test to determine the physical ability of a person to dirve. Its just a fact that sight and reflexes slow down around that age.

Default Mandatory license testing, how old?

Driving is not a right, but rather a privilege. To get and keep this privilege you should have to demonstrate both knowledge (written tests)and the ability to apply that knowledge (driving tests/monkey skills) on a recurrent basis. It should be testing for all drivers from young to old.

Make the tests harder and true-to-life to weed outsome of theidiots. If you want to play in the driving world, you need to demonstrate you have your"stuff" together. Currently, all you need torenew a license is $28 and the ability to stand still long enough to get your picture taken. Maybe a challenge for some of the meth users, but easy enough for the rest of us.

Poor driving habits are passed downby watchingMom orDadsuck at driving. Mom & Dad learned when the roads weren't so busy and unless they've kept up, they are dangerous in todays busy traffic.

We've all seen it, it's not just the old people. Teenagers; The soccer momsyacking ona cell phone in the SUV full of kids; Theguy towing a trailer with no lights and crap falling off; The morning rush-hour drivers...

Be cautious and safe out there!
