downloaded the programming software from the dynatek site.
I plug the cable in, the lights flicker for a second then both go off. I start the software and I set the revs from 3 to zero. I try to send the curve to the unit, the progress pop up comes on and hen nothing happens. No sending, no error, nothing.
Been there, done that. You are almost there. You missed some important stuff. The instructions say you computer/laptop will automatically search for the driver to power it. WRONG! Go to this web site http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and download it. My little notebook did not search automatically, so I went there and downloaded it. 2nd try . . . SUCCESS!!!!! Took it out for a Test Ride. WOW! Set Dead Revs to 0 AND I can use the kicker again. PM me if you want a really good advance curve.

I downloaded the executable and extracted as administrator like it says. I still get the same screen when trying to send the curve:
I read somewhere Dynatek told them it was a Java issue. Disabled Java. Same thing. Uninstalled Java. Same thing. The curvemaker installed both 2000i and 2000HD and they give the same interface and about screen gives the same range HD years. It does the same thing for both programs.
I thought it was maybe my PC/usb port but the same thing happens on my buddy's laptop too. It gets to that progress screen and does nothing. It has to be force closed through the task manager.

Figured it out. After downloading and installing the executable driver like you said, the software needs to be pointed directly to the correct com port. If its on auto detect it freezes. If you select the correct port it works immediately....has to be a Windows 10 thing.
I found this out by trying to send the curve when all the USB ports were empty and manually selecting a com port, it stopped freezing and gave notification that there was no ignition attached....
charging the battery now....fingers crossed I can kick it over and see how the bike feels after sitting in a shed for 21 years.
