Not sure if there is a relationship, but I was at a wedding in Front Royal, VA and was surprised at all the bikes staying at the hotel.
This is like 40mi from DC; could there be that many hotel rooms booked so that riders have to stay that far out?
They estimate between 700-900,000 motorcycles make the ride any given year, so there's a pretty good chance most hotels were filled up. If the guys actually like to ride, other than the RT ride itself, Front Royal is a pretty good place to do it within striking distance of the run.
Yeah I live between Front Royal and D.C. right off I-66 and was sad all day as I couldn't get out but heard bikes going past for about 4-5 hours straight.
