Be Honest, Tuff Guy!!
I accomplish that simply by being me and having lived my own lifes experiences.
I suppose I am lucky.....my neighbor across the street is military, my buddy two doors down is in the same unit as me........within a six house area there are three soldiers who are bikers and one oldhippy having a mid-life crisis who rides a new chopper....so the neighborhood is used to bikes and our biker friends who come over....and we live in a very respectable neighborhood.
I don't understand why people can't be respectful, polite, blunt, aggressive, sympathetic and understanding all while still being able to catch your neighbors dog who keeps $hitting in your flower bed and snap his littleneck while you pet him...........I just don't get it.
I would tell one of my neighbors who complainedthat thoughI regret that they are irritated at my pipes that I wish they would find a way to understand that I am being as quiet as I can and not doing anything to further irritate them. If that didn't work.....andif they persisted in being an annoying little $hit fly thenI'd tell them to go motherfhuck themselves. In a heartbeat.
Contrary to popular beleif, you can be an utter a$$hole and be a nice guy as well.
I don't feel any different than I did before I got my bike (never considered myself "tuff", I'd rather be smart than Tuff) If it comes right down to my life or theirs, I do have a CCL and will defend myself.
But I have noticed this, I wear a pair of Harley boots, a Leather jacket ( no colors or patches, just plain ), a black t-shirt, jeansand a American flag doo-rap under my helmet and people sure do look at me different when I pull in somewhere and get off my bike than they use to when I drove up in my pickup truck.
Not unless the law requires it (or it is really cold or raining).
Sorry bud - she ain't a beatch - you're an A$$. I have neighbors that are elderly and I know they would not appreciate me reving the engine as I pass their house, SO I DON'T. I keep it as quiet as possible in residential neighborhoods simply because I have no need to deliberately pi$$ people off. Pi$$ing people does not make you tuff. It makes you a jerk. If you were a tuff-guy, you'd go hang out in some biker bar instead of hanging out on the internet with the rest of us not-so-tuff guys that enjoy riding.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I always try to be mindful of my neigbors cause I know how pizzed I get when they do stoopid suff
. I also when confromted by one of the "azzholes" that want to buff up just cause I happen to ride a Harley, just sit back and calmly listen and then say thanks for your thoughts have a nice day.
If they want to fight hey I didn't get to be 46 by accident and not knowing how to fight. I got there by knowing when to fight
. Some times the quiet calm approach will get them more angrey just cause you didn't "Do the biker thing......" I am who I am, has nothing to do with what I ride.
For those of you who understood my situration I say Thanksfor your input. Have a nice day!!!
