I do have loud pipes, I'm also a "good" nieghbor. I don't want to be known as the A$$ hole up the street with that awful contraption that makes unGodly noise. As far as being TUFF? Not really, I have laid in the emergency room getting tar, stones, scraped out of my arms and hands by these scalpel type thingswith NO pain killer. AND I DIDN'T CRY !!! I wanted to though. I also had severe knee problems too, I thought I was tough by not crying do to pain.
Tex, I couldn't have said it better. Great minds think alike I guess. If you want to prove your toughness, try riding a Schwinn with all the leathers on! I'm thinkin you might have to prove it then!
I try to keep the noise down in the neighborhood. but as soon as i hit the entrance/exit i rack it all the way up the gears. I dont think that makes me cool or tough, but it is fun as hell. There will always be someone who has to complain, let em. I own a Harley!
Wow it is kind of ironic because I am on the other side⌠I have an azz hole with loud pipes that lives a couple streets over from me and he loves to throttle that sucker all the way through the neighborhood. It IS loud and he IS being obnoxious but it doesnât really bother me and I usually donât like to complain about b.s. like that. BUT he crossed the line with me when he did a blow by to my wife and 3 month old daughter scaring the crap out of them in the process (check my post from a few days ago âwhen is too loud, to loud?) Now I am not a tuff guy (far from it!) but the minute I finally figure out where that guy lives exactly, IWILL be going over and having a talk with him! I wonât be like the little B*tch that sent his wife over to light you up⌠itâs gonna be a 6â4 295 lbs (ex Marine) pissed off husband and your lucky your not in his shoes (unless you live in Socal?)
Lucky for him I am going be nice and neighborly BUT he better not think about looking at me cockeyed!
You should think about who you are putting the screws to before you do that kind of stuff because in my mind you deserve what she gave you and youâll be lucky if nothing else comes up⌠I would guess there will be a LEO watchin for you pretty soon and I donât know if you have ever gotten a ticket for loud pipes but once you do⌠they just keep comin!
I donât care much for the âtuff guyâ stuff because the real tough guyâs are fighting for our freedoms over in Iraq and they donât even know why! But they don't consider themselves tough guys just real Americans!
This had to be THE most entertaining thread that I've read yet. There's some seriously funny $hit in here. There are some things about myself that I consider "tuff" but the bike doesn't make me feel that way Hell, the bike makes me a happier person and my ol' lady says I'm a muchsafer driver since I started riding. I try to treat everyone with respect but a man's home is his castle. Now, if you want to politely discuss an issue you might have with me, that's cool. But, you want see someone getreal pissed, let some yahoo come into my yard or to my door and start giving me crap. That's where I draw the line.
I can actually say I bought mine to combat the idiots here with there little wannabe tuner race cars that are actually falling apart or the quads around here. They ride up and down my alley reving and ripping or the 2 stupid idiots across the street with all their POS they try and make run for a while.[8D]Not the real reason I bought the bike but I have noticed since I got my Harley that many of them have quit cause their junk now sounds like junk compared to meWe also have a bunch of ol' timers in the patch who still ride or wish they still could ride so really I'm in a nice area to have a bike and not worry about the neighbors situation
No I'm not a bad *** & really don't try and rap my pipes like a mad man or anything and am considerate of not going crazy when it isn't really called for or polite. You instead should go and have a talk with her and see if maybe you 2 can come to a understanding that your bike is built like that and you possibly will try to be considerate if she kinda cools it towards youor sayF*k her cause' I don't know the whole story from both sided of the street[&:]
