half my block on both sides has bikes in the driveway, mostly harleys but its about the only thing i like living in this area because the cops are horrible diks with a rep for ithere... when i live in a poorer side of the city i actually got more complaints... i live here now cus room rent is the same, and my roomy owned a shop so i have every tool imaginable at hand and my bike insurance dropped 600 bucks for living six miles away...sucks to have those problems, screw the neighbors. no pipes are that loud to disturb anyone that much, mine is louder then anyone on the block but its only a sound they have to hear for a couple minutes while i pull out and ride off down the block.

Yes, I must admit I get a tough guy feeling when I start up my bike.
Also when I'm pulling out of the drivway, or in the driveway,or down the
street, or at a light, or shutting her down (this is the worst though).
Did I mention when I wlk over to my bike I feel tough. Also when I walk away from
it or when I see her outide a store window, or when I'm chillin and the thought
That "I got a Harley" comes to mind................he he he..

I got some A$$ hole neighbors too!
Including the Beeeoootch who thinks who the f*** she is.
But I got to tell you. I still refrane from revin.
This way it is perfectly clear to me or anyone else.
Their misery is self induced.
Sometimes I want to rattle a cage or two (and sometimes I do)
but when I get to see the misserable beeotch in an angry mess all by herself
it can't be beat. That's when I just look and smile.
Here here I second that motion, My bike doesn't make me tough it makes my toughness feel cool [sm=shades.gif]

What goes around comes around....

I always feel tough on the bike,,,until I see a left hand blinker coming head on....Then I shake like jello in the fetal position....
[sm=funnypostabove.gif]

NEIGHBORS & PIPES:

I have an "elderly gentleman" in our neighborhood who puts his fingers in his ears, thenbends down (why hebends I dunno) like he's ducking under the sound of my pipes as I drive by his house, when he's in the yard of course. Now he'll wave his arms in disgust, dirty looks, even shook his cane at me. I still don'tblip my pipes going by his place. But I think I might need to put up a survey for this one. Weather to "Blip" or not. He hates the noise of my pipes right? Yet he's the guy that goes for his daily walk, and makes sure he drags his caneon the fences that he KNOWS have dogs back there. And hits the metal street sighs etc, with his cane, but only by dog onwers homes, I've watched. And I hear the dogs EVERYDAY!
If I was 17 and stupid I'd go there at night and do "Lawn burnouts" [sm=rant.gif]

A few thoughts:

Maybe 'tough guy' isn't the right term? But I think folks on here would be lying if they said that they didn't 'feel something' different each and every time they went to straddle that Milwaukee Iron. I mean, come on. I know every time I get on my bike,a whole host of feelings run through; ranging from pride, freedom, accomplishment, maybe even a smidgen of bad *** every now and again. I think, to some degree or another, we all feel it.
I think its similar to when you're a cop (or in any uniform for that matter) - where, once you get "suited up" and get into the squad car - your life has suddenly changed. As a cop - you have to realizethe moment you put on the uniform & get in the car - there are: People that don't like you & want to hurt or kill you, people that will come up to you out of the blue and start talking to you & asking you 20 questions, people that will look at you, judge you - you name it...your world changes instantly.

Same on the bike. You get people looking at you & your bike; instantly, people think they're your friend - your your enemy; You have risks of weather, road hazards (animals, rocks, cars & trucks) etc...so each day you go out - and make it hope - that builds a little something inside you - subconsciously or consciously. Everyone feels/acts different when they get on their bike - whether they know it or admit or not. It happens.

I have been on this forum for quite some time and it never ceases to amaze me at the things people will say onhere that they would never say to anyone in person. Some have called the original poster a jerk, childish etc. that would probably neversay that to him in person, so it begs for me to ask the question "Does being on the internet make youfeel likea tough guy or gal"? Oh, you may suggest it in some form or fashionbut I doubt to many would flat out call him a jerk, not because your scared of him but just out of common respect.
