I don't think anyone is a "tuff" guy because they ride a Harley but I do believe there are alot of inconsiderate jerks that ride their Harleys with loud pipes and show no consideration to others.
I sat and thought about your question for a minute and my own answer surprised me. I feel/act like less of a hard *** on the bike than I do in daily life. It's not that Itreat others badly on a normal basis but on the bike I'm definitelyfriendlier and nicer to folks. How many times during a ride do I have folks I don't know want to talk with me about the bike or their past experiences or who knows how many kids and folks I ride by in their yards or cars that wave to me so I smile and wave back. I guess since folks reach out more to be nice while Iâm on the bike I have more opportunity to be nice back. Hard to act or feel like a tough guy when youâre smiling and waiving all the time.
Most people see me as the nicest guy they know, but still get a bit intimidated when I roll up on my Harley. Powerful? Maybe. Maybe not. But it gets their heads turnin'... so I guess that's my own little power in a way
I ride around with three crosses on the back of my helmet with bless this bike on top of it. Tuff guy me? Maybe tuff but notevil ahaha hahahahhaa. When I get on the bike and ride I feel free with not a worry to the world. Man and machine.
I do my best to maintain a low profile when in the neighborhood on my bike.
I give the bike a hard time when the road & the surroundings allow.
My reputation in the neighborhood is a little "loud". In years past I made quite a bit of noise with my drag car & jet boat, it always seemed to bring me more grief than smiles.
I don't really consider myself a "biker". I guess due to the fact that I now have a Harley
someof my neighbors consider me one. They tend to stay furthur away & borrow less stuff.
They have comments once in a while about my pipes. It is funny because the bike is no where near as loud as my Nova was. It made quite a racket when unloading off the trailer at 3AM after a long night at the track. I never heard a comment about that.
