Yeah, that. And now I hear they are going after balloons. No more releasing balloons because when they pop those little pieces of rubber fall back to earth and wreak havoc on the whole space time continuum. They'll be going after condoms next.
The irony is the vents are there to reduce pollution. But with the engines getting bigger and bigger its hard for the vents to keep up. My 114 M8
drips oil out of air cleaner if run hard. So I am effectively causing the very pollution the epa was trying to eliminate. Venting to atmosphere and using a catch can will reduce pollution compared to stock. Gotta love that. Now the question becomes does venting to atmosphere have an effect on your warranty? That is my only concern and have yet to find an answer.
Where I live in California, there is a shop that removes stock exhaust and modifies diesel pick up trucks. The practice is contrary to California law. The owner of the shop is a retired CHP officer. I rest my case.
I love the people who don't have problems not venting telling the people that do don't. lol
It's like telling me that my stock seat is comfortable when it's not.

You can't spit on the sidewalk but you can poop on the sidewalk..
I'm in Cali, 124 build, big cams, race header, vented to atmosphere. The only attention I get from cops are when they say nice bike. They have more to worry about, like getting home to their family.
Lots of good input guys. Seems like a no brainer now. Since i can do it myself for only a small amount of $$. I am going to buy the fittings and hose. I don't want to vent to ground, just have to decide on the catch method. Is there any advantage to the catch can over the small filter type?
