Since then I've had a couple of BMW's, a Ducati (song of the sausage creature edition), a VFR (reminded me of my second ex-wife - pretty, unpredictable and in the end nothing but trouble) and a pair of vintage Yamaha thumpers that I threatened to race but only managed to take apart and put back together, over and over. Always missed my Harley, nothing quite like it for getting on down the highway. Talked myself into a 2018 Low I guess the dealer just didn't want anymore. It's like an old friend, one who's been working out evidently.

The new Street Bob is cool and all, but I didn't like that peanut tank. I don't mind stopping but I hate walking.

This is a cool bike, set up pretty much how I like it. Gonna need some new foot controls, kinda looking at the Kuryakyn swing wing (I'm assuming it'll fit?) and some memory foam in the seat (maybe when it starts snowing). Not much else. For example I never had anything but trouble with windshields on my old bike. The wind blast isn't bad on this one. Presently shopping for a Mexican blanket, if anything. And in any event, if I wanted a Heritage I would have bought one. (Every time the salesman said the words "For a man your age" I went over and sat on the Fat Bob. He got the message eventually, and so did I.)

Very solid bike, handles better than I remember, but maybe it's just me. Forgot how cool it is to grab a handful of real torque; this thing is damn quick. Hard to make it go slow, so I gave up and went fast. "Take it easy for the first thousand miles!" they said. I took it easy for the first couple of blocks, which I figured was enough. Rear brake could use more authority, front brake is surprisingly good. Suspension doesn't suck too bad; might drop some springs in the front but I am getting to the age where I'm past caring about such things, and memory foam sounds like a better use of my money. Sounds like the everlasting boss. Guess I missed that too.

I'm in Cali now. Taking off down the PCH this weekend. Seems like a good place to break it in.
