14 King at 48,000 miles ,sometimes a little clunky but never had a problem yet. My chain adjuster looks almost new to. I do think the pre 14s had more problems.
I still think the issue is the crank, not the comp. Harley now allows for .005 crank runout on a truing stand and .012 in the bike. That just seems crazy to me considering the 5 speed bikes were at .003.

No kidding? I didn't know that.
As for the OP, it's a 9 year old bike with a bunch of miles and you expect things not to go bad or fail? Come on.... this is your 3rd what, Harley? If so then you should have known they need attention and things wear out. Not many motorcycles (all brands) running around that old with that many miles without any trouble. It's the nature of the beast.
Hope HD is making a ton of cash on the crummy compensators they have put in and sold to us. I don't understand why there has not been a recall on these.
Think it might be time for a class action suit to get them to step up and fix a known problem.
Sorry to vent but I am on my third and just 82,000 miles.
Just would be right that they make things right..........
This has been going on for years. They'll replace them under warranty. It wouldn't be a recall, because its not a safety issue.
I'm always amused at how people newly discover this issue and are indignant that there should be a class action lawsuit. Good luck.
I replace the tensioner with An Attitude Adjuster every time I buy a new bike and the compensator stay looking new every time I inspect the components. I'm a believer in fixing a known issue before it chews $hit up in the primary. By the way Mark (Baker), that's a great product you got there.
my 09 electra glide standard had a baker put in at about 45000. it makes alot of noise when i take off from a start like a bad bearing noise. ive had it checked and nothing wrong was found. is this common?

1000% Agree!
Look we All love our Harley's but...
I would like to know who Harley-Davidson Paid Off to Avoid a Lawsuit on these Compensators.
I am not sure what % of Harley owners have
these Compensator issues, but I would guess from what I've seen and read, about 80%. Time for Harley engineers to get there head out there azz and fix this problem or install Bakers version!

Let me know where to sign up. I replaced the comp on my 09 RKC at 30000 miles.
