All that discussion for nothing. Just found a big nail in the rear Dunlop so I had to order a new AE for the rear as well. Dammit. 2 bikes and I’m having to replace 3 out of 4 tires all at once.

At 900mi I took my RK in for a minor warranty issue, picked up a 3/8" lag bolt within a block of the dealers driveway. They knew I wasn't going anywhere and gouged me a bit under $500 for that rear tire before I got out of there. Sucks man I feel your pain.
The main issue with mismatched tires is if one has significantly worse traction than the other, you risk losing control at that axle. I guess the theory is if both of your tires suck, you won't be as aggressive. This is why "they" say you shouldn't have only 2 snow tires on a car, etc.
I say know your machine and what it's capable of with your current tires, and ride accordingly.
You could have absolutely mixed those 2 tires I think that's the standard Replacements tire line for those wheels I have e'm on my 15 road glide What I mean is the factory tire is only available to dealership independent shops carry the American elite

Why do you say that?
50pannmore said you could only get Harley branded tires at the dealership and I posted a link that shows you can order it from an aftermarket source and have it shipped anywhere.
Well ... Because the Tire you link to is NOT the same Dunlop model nor is it available in the OE sizes required or used on 50pannmore's 2015 RG (or the OP's 2014 Limited for that matter).
Now find a Rear D407 / D407T ... Front D408
.

Thanks for the explanation.
The D402 is what came factory on my bike.
I had a short look around and it appears that you and he are correct.
Another firm lesson that I should keep my trap shut when discussing the new bikes.
