Still got my Hayabusa but since I got my 15RGS it doesn’t get rode as much. Still love the speed and the rush it gives me but my RG is comfortable and more practical. I can just throw a leg over it and go. It’s got storage in case I stop @ a store or it rains or gets cold I can grab a jacket. Music for when I’m just cruising and relaxing. No earbuds or Bluetooth batteries dying out.

Every time I wanna ride my Busa I feel like I’m preparing for war...... Gotta load up with all my gear plan a ride where I can avoid traffic and keep an eye out ahead for speed traps and in my rear view.

Talk to me about the Bandit. I’ve got my eye on a GSX 1250 FA. I love my Harley but I sure do get tired of wrestling with it in the twisties. I’m too big (6’5”, 36” inseam) for a full on sport bike. The GSX 1250 FA is not exactly the same bike as yours but close enough. Seems like a good compromise between a sport bike and a ST like a Concourse or FJR.

I rode sportbikes for 20-25 years and then switched to a rigid chopper and finally to Harley. I landed on a Street Glide a few years ago but wanted more performance and looked at a Stage 4 Road Glide, which was going to cost me 23k PLUS my paid for 2015 Street Glide...I told the guy I could go grab a hooligan bike for a third of that and keep my bike, to which he scoffed and said "But it wouldnt be a Harley"....well I showed up 9 days later on a Ducati Panigale 1199R..

This guy gets it. The sport touring bikes are a different breed than the Supersport bikes. I can get on board with the z1000 or Ninja 1000's. Upright(ish) position, standard bars and can still throw them into corners when needed. I've put 30,000 miles on a z1000 and traded it for my Vrod so the wife and I could ride. Took her a few months to warm up to the vrod and on her first trip out we rode 27 miles...to the Harley dealership to buy a King.

That's a 73 to 75 Kawasaki Z-1 and if those are LESTER wheels, it wont affect the value. (Looks like a LESTER in the back and a 77 or 78 KZ wheel out front.) It also looks to be sporting a set of later KZ carbs.
Have you priced a real Z-1 lately?
You might be shocked.
Theres some money there.

Default Kawasaki H1 and H2

Then an 850 Suzuki quickly followed by a GS1100E that I kept for 22 years. It grew to a 1240 with race cams, smoothbore carbs, a Yosh clutch, and a Kerker Comp pipe that was the subdivisions alarm clock when I left for work every morning getting gears going down the main street. That was followed by an SV1000N Suzuki, V-twin light weight great handling bike, and after much complaining from wife saying she couldn't perch on the pillion (we were in our mid - late 50's, I got my first Harley, a 2015 Street Glide, quickly followed by falling into the deal I got on the 2015 Ultra I now have.
The Kawasaki H1 was the 500cc. The H2 was a 74 hp 750. Both 2 stroke triples. That was one crazy bike! It's the bike that got me the name ZEROPILOT because I used to crash all of the biker bashes and meets on mine with unbaffled "stinger" expansion chambers.
I even raced one across the CABBAGE PATCH in Daytona.
Fun. Noisy and kind of unreliable. But now those bikes are fetching north of $25,000!
Not bad for $1,250 new.

I wouldn't say convert. More like a different tool for a different job. I sold my '13 Million Edition GSX-R1000 because sport bikes just aren't fun on the street after you've got some time in on the racetrack. And they're just not practical. But I still have my trackbike!

Both limited edition GSX-R. The blue one is an Anniversary 600, and the other is the Million Edition:

And this is what the 600 looks like now:

Not really a convert. Two different things. I like both.
