Make her happy and she'll be with you all the time (if that's what you want). Ultra classic and you'll find her very happy, but any touring model will work great.
When other half went HD shopping he wouldn't even look at a touring model. He claimed they were "Geezer" bikes. News flash, he's on the other side of 45! He came home with a beautiful '07 Fatboy. We rode mostly around town, nothing big. We took our first long ride to the drag races. In the morning is is cool, but by noon it's hotter than heck. What to do with your stuff? We bungeed a backpack to the sissybar and looked like hillbillies on parade! Not to mention the stock seat was less than comfy. Long story short, we now have a '07 Classic and love every minute of it. I didn't know riding could be comfortable! So a little more $$$, but worth every penny. My hubby would agree too!!
Ultra is just that. the ultimate in touring and comfort. we've done long trips on about everything. Sporties, WG, softails and of course EG tourers. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. the UC and most of the EG are great on trips, but the others are a bit more nimble around town. The passenger (Wife) is likely the one who will determine how comfortable a bike is allowed in the family.
course I wear the pants in this family and make those decisions. (gotta hurry on this post, she's coming back into the house).
Love the UC, you can't do any better if you get a EG tourer.
well for 2 up riding the geezer line would be the best suited
but to the down side
you did not state how stout you are or how big you are as for comfrt you must figure in all these and more factors
I had a gezzer classic for years but very seldom ever rode it as it was just to big
I preffered my shovel or my other brand crusier I had at the time
I'll put it to ya this way, I had a Super Glide for 4 years until Nov of 06, then I got an Electra Glide Classic. My wife has already put on 5 times the miles on the EG than she did in 4 years on the Super Glide. She did not like to ride with me on the SG, but loves the comfort of the EG. IMO there is no comparison, the Electra Glide family is the top of the line for touring and 2 up riding.
