HD riding boots
the canadian made Cruiserworks boots.. well the Defender and Commando have a strap at the top to hold your laces (where you tie them up) to the boot so they dont flop around. Pretty good system, I have the defenders.. love em, and they have a styrene hard toe.. instead of a steel toe(which conducts cold) and the Cruiserworks are waterproof and very comfy inside. (they better give me a discount next time I buy them for this (j/k))
Surprised no one gave a shout to Red Wing boots. I absolutley love them. Started wearing em when I was hired on the railroad some 17 years ago. Was hooked from the get go. That and made in the USA, what more can I say?

Good news! I went to the dealers today and said I had a problem and pointed to my boots with the zipper half down. She didn't miss a beat and said "no problem, they are guareenteed for a year." They gave me a new pair with the zips in front instead of the side and work fine. I'm set.

If you really like the boots and want a quick fix, maybe try a rubber band around where the zipper handle goes. You could also have a cobbler sew a little leather flap with velcro to go over where the top of the zipper is. Like someone else posted previously, I have apair of SWAT boots that has that feature - actually makes even more sense on motorcycle boots.
