To each his own and there are many choices ... I've experienced poor performance with ( professionally applied ) epoxy coatings in the past in the shop and I wouldn't choose epoxy again
I used to work at two different car dealers owned by the same company. Both of their service drives where cars are checked in had epoxy on the floors so they get a lot of traffic. The last one I worked at had it installed over four years ago and is still holding up well, almost looks brand new. Costly but effective if done correctly. Will probably have mine done that way after my garage mahal is built. As others have mentioned, get it textured.

If you do a floor with paint specs in it yourself . MAKE SURE you buy a extra 6 bags of the paint chips because , once you mix up the two gals of epoxy paint you are committed to a hardening time . And you will not have the time to run back to the store for chips if you run out .
Then when your done you can return the unused bags .
If you do the epoxy floor with the chips yourself and decide to put the epoxy clear coat over top for the best look . MAKE SURE that you give the whole garage floor a very good rub down with a 10 or 12” piece of 2x4 (sanding block) to get up any loose paint chips .Smoothing out the floor so you get good coverage with the clear coat .

I currently have an old floor mat from work in front of my bench, which is on the side of the garage. I am currently driving over it pulling the van in. When bike is home, it sits next to the bike. But ****??? Sorry, never had it in any of our homes!
Use an anti slip texture with what ever you choose. Putting a wet boot down on a slick surface will end badly. I made that mistake the first time I epoxy painted my floor.
+1! I have a finished very slick when wet sealed concrete garage floor and did exactly that. Leg shot out from under me and I dropped the bike. Luckily, no damage at all.
Epoxy full broadcast floors professionally installed. Wasnt cheap but much better than a Home Depot paint kit. Just dont drop small parts on it. Hell to find.

If you can find someone that can apply a polyaspartic floor in your area, that is what I would use. Check out the attached link - I had it applied in basement (same as image 9) and a buddy of mine did his garage (image 15) http://garage-tech.biz/gallery/
