Rode all the way thru Kentucky in a downpour on the way to the Smokies from Ohio...on a Sporty with no rain gear. Didn't realize how heavy a leather jacket could get after soaking up hundreds of gallons of rain water! Pretty miserable......Boots shot. too....

I lived un upstate New York for five years. If you did not ride in the rain - you did not ride.

Seemed to rain every weekend, all summer long, then turn cold and snow all winter.

I moved.

I picked up my new SG last week. Knew the skies were going to open up. Couldn't sign the dam* papers fast enough! Got half-way home and wham! Skies opened up. I mean downpour. I'm insight of my house, just before the railroad tracks. Crossing signs light up. Guy in front of me stops, as he should. These aren't commuter trains - they're 85 car-long freight trains!!

Nothing better than the feeling when it stops.

I have been rained on so much in the last 30 years, it really doesn't bother me. Not my favorite, but if I caught in it - so be it. I used to have an old Sportster with no front fender. In the rain, you would have two types of water hitting you in the face - cold from the rain and warm from the road. Fenders rock.
