What oil do you have in your engine? You didn't say in your OP. Dino or synthetic? If dino, I'd change it after a 1,000 miles or so, if synthetic, run it to 3,000 miles, or until fall when you put the bike away, then change it before storage. Why would you possibly want to dump a good synthetic oil after only 1250 miles?

What would you do if it were your car or truck?

Go ride and change it at the normal interval.
