had bought a 2017 Road King with the new 107. Got to the first oil change and the motor granaded. One day short of a month later they installed a new motor. Im thinking ok... traded it in on a 2017 Tri Glide. Got 500 miles short of the second oil change and the motor practically fell apart inside. They replaced the motor with a new one. They said both times it was the oil pump. I called corporate to see if they could make me feel better about Harley. They said well cover your first service. I said thats it???? Next response..and 100.00 credit. Im a disabled Veteran, thats why I had to go to the trike. Couldnt they have done more??? Im not impressed as a first time bike owner
This is probably troll post, as we get a lot here, particularly from Indian forums. If the reason for the trike is because you are a disabled Vietnam veteran then you would not have bought the first bike and switched to a trike after only one oil change. You would have bought a trike to begin with.
Being a Vietnam veteran has nothing to do with your engine troubles or Harley owing you anything extra. A disproportionate large number of forum members are veterans including myself.
Don't these new bikes require a one thousand mile service before going into the normal service schedule?
On the off chance you are not a troll, your best bet is to sell the trike and get something much older and gently used for around five thousand dollars. Evo's are a real bargain right now and can be had for so cheap that no matter what might be wrong with them if anything, you are still a lot of money ahead even after a major repair.
i'm sorry. i'm a disabled veteran as well, but i don't wear it as a badge and wave it around.
did you do your duty for yourself, or for what you thought others would 'owe' you?
hd is under no responsibility to do anything other than repair/replace your bike under warranty. the fact that they are throwing in a free service and a $100 gift card is like giving you $500. sure, you're limited on where you can use it, but others have been in the same situation as you and didn't even get that. so be happy.
and yes, i'd be pissed too if i had two bikes in a row implode.
Hmmm.... Two new 2017s had problems within or just after the break in period? Quite the coincidence. Plus its 2019....why wait so long to raise a fuss on the forum? Not adding up.

I agree, weird and appears troll-like but having been a forum member since November 2016 he must have a hell of a lot of self-control. Or is VERY diabolical......

2016... Didnt even see that.
I know how bad it sucks having issues like he's describing. Still odd he's waited so long to say anything.
If the oil pumps failed, wouldnt that throw the trouble lights on the gauges prior to the engine being harmed? I mean hell, you can go a long ways with no oil before the engine will grenade or fall apart inside.
Did you not see any check engine light or similar? In either instance?
