So, on Sunday I was out for a perfect ride because the weather finally started changing here in NJ. Unfortunately, the roads are still in the "after winter" phase.
Early in on my ride, I saw myself heading towards a pothole I couldnt avoid. I tried to lift myself out of my seat as much as possible, but it hit violently and my seat went straight up my spine.
Right after that, I felt pressure at the base of my skull, like a little spot headache but kept on with my ride anyway. Its been two days and that same pressure hasnt gone away. Ive also had more of a high pitched ringing in my ears more often. I do have slight tinitus but this is different and is more of the ringing I have when I have a higher fever(if that even makes sense). Every now and then the headache will grow and Ill feel pressure in my head that goes from the base along the back up to the top of my skull. Theres really no pain though if I move my head side to side or all around.
Im not trying to have the forum play doctor here. I guess Im just trying to see if anyone else ever experienced a situation like this.
sounds like a piched nerve to me. I developed a pinched nerve after changing handlebars years ago...could barely lift my right arm and had pain in my shoulder and neck. believe it or not but I switched to using a taller pillow in bed for two nights and it went away completely and been fine since. But you should go see a doctor.
never experienced that, but the chiropractor does wonders for me. Maybe try getting an adjustment done, don't go to one that wants you to come back 3 times a week for 6 months though. Some just want you to keep paying for their boat payment or whatever toy they have.
Same thing happened to me . My chiropractor keeps my back in check and when I hurt my neck , he worked on it and got it straightened out . Only had to see him 2 or 3 times . We are on a first name basis and he's never steered me wrong . See a doctor or chiropractor , but get it checked out .
Go see your General practitioner, tell him exactly what you told us. When it comes to spine and pressure and the like it could be something simple as a slight herniation to a lumbar or cervical vertebrae, a pinched nerve, or it could be something serious which could impact future riding.
Friggin' Jersey & NY. Spend all the tax dollars on welfare & social programs, but leave the roads a disgrace.
Before I moved to Florida, I sat down one day & listed all the reasons why I wanted to leave NYC. There were 18, and crappy roads was one of them.
Yes; sounds like a pinched nerve, but see a dr. to be sure. And, I imagine it was there all along; the bump just aggravated it.
