In 1973 or 74 a friend bought a used 1972 Superglide but it didn't have the Boat Tail. I got to ride it back then, first Harley ride, it was a handful, you knew you were on a REAL motorcycle.
Will never forget the experience. Would ride my 1973 Yamaha RD350 next to him on the freeway, wound out at 90 MPH, he would just kick it into 4th and pull away. 19 years old, was big fun.

That is kind of weird. On the Sportsters, they had the Aluminum rims Frt. and rear 19" & 18", but on the Superglide, they mixed the 16" steel chromed rear, with the 19" aluminum frt.
