+1 on the plywood. I have a 6 x 6 piece, 1/2” thick painted bright orange. Been using the same piece for 25 years.

Wear a crappy helmet and use that under the stand.
I did that for many years, even works well in soft sand.

Don’t use balsa thin wood and you’ll be fine lol. I have some 9”x7” pieces of 1/2” treated plywood that I keep handy for when I need to park bikes on my lawn and they work perfect.

I attached a length of 550 cord to the disk, and the other end to my saddlebag guard. Put disk in bag when not in use. I can place the disk WITHOUT getting off the bike, and pick it up WITHOUT bending over while on the bike.

I use a piece of sheet aluminum the same size as my license plate with slots in it so it will mount behind the license . Use wing nuts so it can be used rather easily.
