If I'm running along at 45-50, I will stay in 4th gear. You are not causing harm to the engine. I'd rather be reeving the engine a little more than lugging it.
Agree 100%
If your going a little to slow for the gear your in (engine starts to lug) down shift. It's always better for the motor to be on the high end ofa gear than the low end.
After you ride it alittle you'll get a feel for when to shift, you won't even have to think about it.
You don't have to worry about over reeving the engine and blowing it, the 07's have all kinds of "computer crap" that won't let the happen.
I just got my first new Harley a month or so ago, just let me say you will love your new bike.[sm=biker2.gif]
To add to my naggin questions. How do I know, or what occurs when I hit the rev limiter. I know what a rev limiter is and how it works on cars, but I just wanted to know what it is like on the harley I have. Sorry to ask these questions but I would rather ask then try to hit the rev limiter on my new baby.
