Is it just me or does it seem like 4th runs to 65mph before having to shift to 5th and if you are in 5th between 60 and 65mph it vibrates hard. The same with 4th between 50 and 55mph. let me know maybe I have a problem.
2007 1200 C has similar tendencies. usually shift to 2nd about 20 3rd 30 fourth 45-50 and fifth smooths out around 70. Havent been on the highway yet and am not in a hurry to do so. Just feel good about riding 45-65 especially with the high winds we have been having. Wish someone with a tach could tell us what rpms we are hitting in diferant gears.

No problem. Sportsters are geared tall and you don't want to put it in fifth gear until 65 mph. Don't shift as much and rev her higher and both of you will be happier.
ive noticed the same thing with my nightster.
i was starting to think i had a loose motor mount, now im leaning towards it being a rubber mounted engine.
put it in nuetral, on the jiffy stand, and stand beside it and work the throttle. my engine shakes independent from the frame.
also while engine off, i can move my engine with my hand.
is this normal with rubber mounted v-twin?
