Default 2004 dyna/older wheel

ok gents,
I appreciate any help. I have an 04 Dyna I restored from a wreck. The last piece of the puzzle is a simple 19" front rim. I have had no luck finding one until I bought the one in the pic. Of course after the fact my bike guy tells me the one I bought was from a pre 99 bike and has a different sized and different style bearing and that there is no way to make it work. Suggestions???

I did the same thing. If i remember correctly. I took the rim into Harley and had them machine the rim to take the bigger bearing

First off ... OUCH !

There are ways to make it work, but because that "Replacement" uses a Tapered Roller Bearing and you have a 1" axle ... it's not a "Bearing Change"

Your 2004 Dyna was the first year for the 1" axle and that's one of the main hurdles. While it's harder to find an Original 2004-05 Dyna wheel (13-spoke with 1" bearings), it should be easy to find a 2000-03 Dyna / 2000-07 Sportster 3/4" wheel that you can swap the bearings while enlarging the Hub's "Clearance Hole" for the larger 1" axle/spacer sleeve

If there's one thing I've learned about wheel swaps, the devil is in the details. This dude ^ will never steer you wrong. Sell those wheels and start over, it'll be cheaper and easier.
