Looking for advice on using the gps. I want to do a trip and it does a great job getting me there the best way on auto mode. When I move it to cycle mode the gps starts going on nice less traveled but goes in all the side and back roads that brings me back to the main road I was on. When I put on adventurous route it wants me to have an off road bike and use no roads. How can I get it setup to stay off interstate roads and just use a nice country roads.

There should be a setting for things to avoid like toll roads, highways, unpaved roads...check whichever you want to stay off of and it'll route around those.

Also if you have the "Curvy" mode and it is activated, the GPS will keep u off the superslabs as much as possible and on the more curvy roads.

Good advice here.

Unless I am in a hurry, which is like never, my 660 or the nav on my RGS stays set to shortest route. It will often times want to take me on a gravel road but I just bypass it and let the thing reroute me.

I have the Zumo 595, which is very similar to the 395. Yes, you can program it to avoid toll roads, U turns, and various other things. If it tries to take me down a road I don't like I just go the way I want to and let it re-route me. It's a really nice instrument.

If you don't have it already, download Garmin "basecamp" and do your trip planning on your PC. It is much easier to see and edit you route and to see what the differences are for the option you've selected. I've had mine for about six weeks and am still learning tricks. There are some VERY GOOD YouTube videos available to help you with your learning curve.
