Hated the stock exhaust on both of our HDs. Switched over to SEIIs. No regrets and no problem with the noise.

Ripped the stock pipes off after 400 miles and went for SE11's Could'nt stand the Chuff Chuff Chuff Chuff sound any longer. The stock pipes have a catalyser in them and we have to have a compulsory vehicle roadworthy test after three years from new and thereafter every year ! That should prove interesting slipping the stocks on for a day to past the test.

Nope. Bike had 2.5 miles on it when the dealer delivered it, and I never rode it. Ripped it all apart, and installed a set of SE2 mufflers, and have been happy with them. I am now thinking of going to Samson Rip Saw pipes. I know they are VERY loud but I like the look of them.

Had stock pipes on my '04 Sport for a bit, swapped 'em out for Vance and Hines Straightshots and put in the V&N quiet baffle. Gave the bike a nice rumble without bringing the neighbors out. They are louder than stock, but the police aren't dropping their donuts!!

Had the stock pipes amputated before she left the dealer.

Vance&Hines Bighsots Staggered with the SE air kit and the carb re-jetted of course.

Not loud by what I define loud to be but the combo of pipes, intake and carb work not only added very noticeable power/torque it gave the bike a serious growl and serious attitude.

She turns heads and I generally always get comments on how good that set-up sounds.

To each his own though.

BUT.........since there are many here who like stock pipes let me throw this out.

I have (2) HD stock pipe sets, both 2003 that I'd be glad to make a good deal on for anyone needing replacements.

One set came off my 03' LowRider
One set came off my Dad's 03' Heritage Softtail

Never road ridden, both sets of stock pipes came off before bikes were taken out the dealers doors. Both sets are secure and have been stored in one of our shops.

Depends on the bike.

My FXR is loud and fast, I couldn't imagine it any other way.

My FLHT is quiet and I would never make it loud, I like the tunes too much and long rides on the highway are more enjoyable.
